This book is for you if you're done with shame and silence, and ready for something more honest.

For a long time, the conversation around sexual assault has been about awareness.
This book is about what comes after.

Courage to Feel is my debut memoir and guidebook for survivors who are ready to stop surviving and start fully living. It's not a book about getting over it. It's about learning to be with it — the grief, the anger, the vulnerability, the pleasure, the messy, nonlinear process of coming back to yourself.

Woven together with survivor stories, embodiment practices, journal prompts, and emotional inquiry, this book offers a compassionate framework for the part of healing that doesn't get talked about enough: the lifelong journey of rebuilding self-trust and reclaiming your relationship with your body.

Because resiliency, for survivors, isn't about fighting through it. It's about the willingness to surrender — and lean into what you feel.

THIS IS NOT A BOOK ABOUT GETTING OVER IT.

A compassionate counterpoint to fix-it culture, blending lived experience, survivor stories, and somatic practices in each chapter for the lifelong journey of self-reclamation.

THE FIRST READERS HAVE SPOKEN.

"An invitation to believe that healing is possible and that our stories have the power to set others free."

"I was particularly moved by the details of some chapters, which give the writing a raw, present-tense credibility that no amount of clinical distance could replicate. The themes of reclamation, self-trust, and the radical possibility of joy after violation run through every page."

Mansoor Ahmen, Reader’s Favorite

"Tess reminds us that healing is about learning to feel what we've long been taught to suppress. This is a deeply validating guide for anyone ready to move from surviving to truly living."

MEet the author

I'm Tess Allen

My work lives at the intersection of energy medicine, embodiment, and creativity, and it's rooted in one core belief: that healing isn't about becoming someone new. It's about returning to the wholeness that was always there.

I draw from my own healing journey after sexual trauma to make the work I do feel real, accessible, and deeply human. Using tools like EFT tapping, shadow work, and nervous system education, I help people move through old patterns, rebuild self-trust, and find their way back to a fuller, more expressive version of themselves.

If you've found your way here, I don't think it's by accident.
